Home / Host a City Game
For teachers, group organizers & hostels

Build your own city game. Your group plays it with one code.

Lay out a route of real spots in the Host Portal. Write the questions, or reuse ours. Then publish, hand out one code, and watch your group play it in the app with a live score. No guide to book, no worksheets to print.

Building your tour is free, Host Portal and first city included. Your own spots work in any city; ready-made curated routes are live for Hamburg. The player app is on the App Store today.

One tool, every kind of group

Class trip, company outing, hostel check-in. Same portal.

Schools

Class trips & school outings

Build a 90-minute wandertag route or a half-day programme. Set your own time limit; supervision duty stays with you.

Groups

Company outings & team events

Team against team, as a warm-up or the whole afternoon. No external guide fee.

Hostels

Hostel & language-trip groups

Hand guests a code at check-in instead of a printed map. Stag, hen and language-trip groups run the same way.

How hosting works

Four steps, all in the Host Portal.

01

Build the route

Drop real spots on the map, or take a curated Hamburg route and swap spots in and out.

02

Write or reuse questions

Every spot asks something you can only answer standing there. Curated Hamburg spots arrive with their questions written.

03

Share the code

Your group joins as guests with a code or QR. No player accounts, no app-store search first.

04

Play it, live

They play in the app, score running as they go. The portal's job ends the moment you publish.

Build it yourself

From an empty map to a group playing your city.

All four steps happen on your laptop, days before the day itself. And you can hand the building work to the group: each team writes its own spots, you decide what goes live.

  1. 01

    Lay out the route

Drop real spots on the map in the order you want them walked — or start from a curated Hamburg route and swap spots in and out.

  2. 02

    Let teams build too

Each team gets its own build code and writes its own spots, questions and answers. A photo of the place can be added to any spot.

  3. 03

    Nothing goes live unchecked

Every team spot lands in your review list. You release it, or send it back with a short note. Photos are reviewed the same way.

  4. 04

One code, live in the app

Publish the tour and hand out a single join code or QR. Your group joins in the app and plays there — live score included. The Host Portal's part ends at publish.

Photos are optional and go through the same review. For now they help you and your teams while building — they are not shown inside the player app yet.

What you get

Five things the Host Portal gives you.

The Host Portal

You lay the route. GPS decides the stamp.

Spots go on the map in the order your group should walk them. On site, GPS confirms a team is really standing there before the stamp and the points unlock. That check runs on our server, not on the phone, so nobody scores a spot from the café.

HOST-4F2

One code for the whole group. Everyone plays live in the same game.

Host FAQ

Questions hosts send us.

What does it cost?

Building a tour is free: the Host Portal and your first city cost nothing. There is no published price list for extra content yet — you hear any price from us by email before anything is charged.

Which cities can I build a route in?

Any spot you add yourself works anywhere. Our curated, ready-made routes with pre-written questions currently cover Hamburg only — more cities are planned but not live yet.

Do my players need accounts?

No. Everyone joins with a code or QR code as a guest. One phone per team is enough — a device per person is not needed.

How do I stay in control while they play?

You build the route and play area in the Host Portal in advance, including start and end point. Once your group is playing, the live score and each team's progress show in the app, not the portal. Supervision duty for minors stays with you; small groups with a chaperone or a bounded play area both work well.

Is this only for schools?

No — the same portal runs games for class trips, company outings, stag and hen parties, language trips, and hostel groups. One tool, different labels on top.

Want to try it with your group?

Send us your group size, city and preferred date. We reply with a route suggestion. Or skip the email, open the Host Portal and start building — that part is free.
